Activated Ceramic Balls

Active ceramic balls (SW active ceramic balls) are a new type of reactor support packing. They are manufactured by introducing a small amount of transition metal oxides on the basis of inert ceramic balls. They not only possess the characteristics of inert ceramic balls, such as high-temperature resistance and high mechanical strength, but also serve the functions of filtration, dispersion of gas and liquid, coverage, and support of catalysts. Additionally, they exhibit certain catalytic activity and act as co-catalysts in processes such as olefin saturation, desulfurization, and denitrification. In processing flows such as hydrotreating, hydrocracking, pre-hydrogenation for reforming, and benzene hydrogenation of distillate oils, filling active ceramic balls at the top of the catalyst bed in the reactor allows for the preliminary hydrogenation of mono-olefins and diolefins in secondary processed feed oils, thereby reducing catalyst coking. Filling active ceramic balls at the bottom of the catalyst bed can remove mercaptans and other substances generated during certain reactions. The use of active ceramic balls not only effectively improves the spatial utilization of the reactor but also, to a certain extent, protects the catalyst from poisoning and sintering, thereby extending the catalyst's service life.
